“The new disc, with guest appearances from several other Tulsa players, is a gem of a recording, full of lush, sparkling harmonies and power-pop tunes reminiscent of such classic acts as the Kinks, Yes, and mostly mid to late-era Beatles. Titled simply Cargoe, the album evokes an earlier era without sounding stale or hackneyed, and that’s just what the group was gunning for.”
2011 - John Wooley – Author and Music Critic

"In light of the exulted position currently retro-occupied by Big Star, it’s hard to imagine a time when any other group on the Ardent Records roster might have been considered the band most likely to. But when Feel Alright became a medium-sized radio hit across the U.S. in 1972, Cargoe certainly looked like the next-big-thing that producer Terry Manning and label boss John Fry desperately needed to boost Ardent’s ailing fortunes. Sadly, the same financial and distribution problems which thwarted Big Star’s initial shot at success also put paid to their Tulsa-formed label mates".. Ange Tsibogiannis MOJO Magazine

As a former patron of "The Machine", I remember the days of having the Cargoes to listen and dance to. I just recently re-discovered Cargoes music. Having had the original album destroyed by a jealous girlfriend years ago, I am now into CD music, and have spent the money for the first album cd form from Japan. I am also purchasing the new music. Thanks for the music and would love to see the band perform live again. Still make it back to Tulsa once a month.

I was a music director at WMAK, then a rock station in Nashville. I played Feel Alright on your debut album. It's great th see you're on the verge of becoming an overnight success!

Got the album, no problems mate, and i must say i've been enjoying it heaps. As it says on the sleeve it's got a very organic, natural sound, a group of guys very comfortable with playing in that 'live' style. I think there is a good mix of styles on there too, which keeps the flow going and means the tunes don't sound too samey. So great to hear the Cargoe harmonies back, just with a bit more experience and knowing in the vocal tones, of course - the instant feeling i got was that the album is by a group who have grown up, but still love their music and love life njust as much as ever, and have a few sweet tricks up their sleeves.
